The name Pro Sono is inspired by the Latin term "pro bono" (short for “pro bono publico") meaning “for the public good”, which refers to the donation of professional services. Adopting the Latin word “sono” meaning “sound,” Pro Sono embodies our mission of doing good through music and resonating our spirit of service.
Pro Sono is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that believes music has the power to touch people’s hearts and enrich their lives. The members, ranging from professional musicians to students, hold concerts every month to share music with the community whether it be at senior citizen homes, hospitals or anywhere we can uplift their spirits.
This provides a special experience for the students to learn about sharing and engaging with the community.
